The Prudential Eye Awards

Established in 2014, the Prudential Eye Awards were staged in Singapore in 2014, 2015 and 2016 as part of Singapore Art Week. Created to celebrate and recognise artists from Greater Asia, the Awards presented honours across eleven categories and provided a distinguished platform for contemporary Asian artists and their creative works.

Categories included Best Painting, Installation, Photography, Sculpture and Digital or Video, as well as the Prudential Eye Award for Contemporary Asian Art, the Prudential Singapore Young Artist Award, Outstanding Contribution to Contemporary Asian Art, Most Promising Asian Gallery and International Asian Art Exhibition of the Year.

Over three years, more than USD 400,000 was awarded to over twenty artists from across Greater Asia. The Awards offered not only significant financial support but also international recognition, reinforcing Parallel Contemporary Art’s commitment to championing emerging creative talent.

In addition, the Prudential Eye Awards helped to raise Singapore’s profile as a leading international destination for contemporary art, while reinforcing Prudential’s prominence and engagement within the global art world.
